American adults stay away from online food Shopping

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -According to a Gallup Poll released today, the vast majority of Americans continue to shop for food at conventional supermarkets as opposed to ordering their groceries online.

Gallup, in its annual Consumption Habits survey, found that only 1% of adults exclusively shop online for their groceries. The survey also showed that 83% went to conventional supermarkets at least once a week for their goods.

While the gap between online and conventional food shopping remains significant, Americans are both eating out at restaurants and ordering delivery or pick-up at similar rates. The poll showed that 87% Americans are eating out at least once per month, while 70% are ordering delivery or pick-up.

The poll also showed that 88% of Americans have never ordered a meal preparation kit online.
