Gallup, in its annual Consumption Habits survey, found that only 1% of adults exclusively shop online for their groceries. The survey also showed that 83% went to conventional supermarkets at least once a week for their goods.
While the gap between online and conventional food shopping remains significant, Americans are both eating out at restaurants and ordering delivery or pick-up at similar rates. The poll showed that 87% Americans are eating out at least once per month, while 70% are ordering delivery or pick-up.
The poll also showed that 88% of Americans have never ordered a meal preparation kit online.
